The School Board desires public attendance at its meetings, and has the responsibility for conducting its business in a public and orderly fashion. The Chairperson will provide the audience with an opportunity to speak during the visitor’s comment section. Visitor’s comments shall be limited to five minutes and should not include the topics of students or personnel, which are deemed private data in Minnesota and not allowed at a public meeting. The Board may respond to visitor comments or refer the issue to the appropriate administrative staff.
Meetings of the School Board will follow a standard agenda, which is tentatively set the week prior to the meeting. Items may be added during the approval of the agenda section, but many items require appropriate background information for the board to reach a decision and may be forwarded to a future meeting.
The School Board schedules a number of committee meetings to investigate and discuss issues before sending their recommendation to the full board for ultimate action. These committees include: Activities, Applied Technology, Facilities, Finance, Personnel, Policy, World's Best Workforce, Legislative Action, etc. and are posted outside the District Office and on the district website.
