Food & Nutrition Services

Our Food Philosophy

Minnewaska Food and Nutrition Services goal is to foster positive eating habits that last a lifetime for students.  The foods we provide go above and beyond the minimum standards set by USDA.  As much as possible, we source foods with real ingredients that minimize added preservatives and anything artificial as well as limiting added sugars.

We also believe that to truly teach life long habits, students must understand how foods fuel their bodies as well as open up new flavors and foods for them to experience. We frequently offer new foods for students to taste and to also learn why it is good for them!

The mission of Food and Nutrition Services is to provide high-quality, nutritionally sound food service programs that support student learning.

Every day, we offer healthy and delicious breakfasts and lunches to help our students be successful throughout the day, but what about after-school activities? Many of our students are involved in after-school activities and may not be able to have dinner until late in the day. Now available, students may pre-order and pre-pay for an easy grab-and-go meal or snack. Options include a turkey or ham sub sandwich or a classic favorite grape or strawberry PB&J Uncrustable.
