Education & Teaching Experience--
I attended Gustavus Adlophus College, in St.Peter, Minnesota. I recieved my Bachelor Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 1979. I earned my Masters of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, Morris.
My first teaching job was in Worley, Idaho where I taught kindergarten and third grade. I have been teaching at Minnewaska for 30 years. During this time I have taught grades: first, second, fourth, & fifth.
Teaching is a lifelong process of learning about new philosophies and new strategies, learning from the parents and community, learning from colleagues, and especially learning from the children. Children have taught me to open my mind and my heart to the joys, the innocence, and the diversity of ideas in the world. Because of this, I will never forget how to smile with the new, cherish the old, and laugh with the children.
If you are planning for a year, sow rice.
If you are planning for a decade, plant trees.
If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.
