Curriculum and Instruction

We pride ourselves in aligning to current standards and finding innovative ways to engage our students. We are proud to offer 1:1 devices for our students in grades 2-6 and 2:1 devices for kindergarten and first-grade students. We take a balanced approach to using technology and hands-on learning. We encourage our students to create, collaborate and think critically. Music and physical education opportunities are available daily and art is offered for all K-6th grade students. In grades 5 & 6, we have quarterly rotations of art, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Technology, and Healthy Bodies and Minds. We offer intervention support for students with more targeted learning needs and create experiences for students to be challenged beyond classroom expectations. Our teachers are continuously collaborating to ensure each student’s needs are met and instruction is individualized for our students to be successful.

E-Learning Days

In the event of a school closure due to inclement weather, learning expectations for all students continue through “e-Learning” activities. Curriculum plans for each grade level, eLearning parent information, expectations, and staff expectations are listed below.

Should your child receive specialized educational services at Minnewaska Area Elementary School, they may have a different set of e-Learning day requirements. In this case, contact your child's teacher for further instruction.
