MAS Hosts Open Q&A Sessions Today; Lists Residents’ Voting Options
As the Minnewaska Area Schools District prepares for the upcoming bond vote, community members are encouraged to get informed and involved through a series of Open Q&A Sessions and then take advantage of multiple voting options.
The district will host two public Q&A sessions today (Monday, October 13), at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Minnewaska High School Cafeteria. These sessions offer residents the opportunity to learn more about the community partnership, ask questions about tax implications, and understand how the bond could impact local schools.
Early and Absentee Voting is Underway
Early and absentee voting is already underway and will continue through November 3, available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Minnewaska Area Schools District Office (Door #1). Voters are advised that there will be no voting on October 16 or 17, and all absentee ballots must be submitted by 8 p.m. on Election Night, November 4, directly to the District Office. The Pope County Courthouse will not accept absentee ballots.
Voters may request an absentee ballot by calling the MAS district office at 320-239-4800 or by applying online at the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website: https://mnvotes.sos.mn.gov/abrequest/index.
Voting on Election Day
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pope County Courthouse. This special election uses a combined polling place between the Minnewaska Area Schools District and the courthouse — a change from previous special elections.
