Minnewaska Parent Teacher Organization
The Minnewaska Parent Teacher Organization was formed to promote, encourage and build an essential connection between home and school. Our mission is to strengthen and enhance the educational and social environment of Minnewaska Area Schools by providing opportunities for parents, teachers and students to learn, socialize, communicate and grow together.
PTO raises funds for supplemental materials, supports school and family events with a goal of deepening community spirit and enriching our student’s educational, social and developmental experiences.

Volunteer Opportunities
Working to Connect Home and School
The Minnewaska PTO values the connection between home and school. Studies show the parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the most important factors in raising student self-esteem and academic achievement. Moreover, most experts agree that parental involvement should go beyond attendance at parent-teacher conferences and open house. We realize that each family is unique-with its own priorities and time constraints so as the PTO we try to provide a variety of different family friendly events throughout the year that wouldn’t be able to run without the support of volunteer parents.
PTO meets during the school year monthly on the third Monday at the Minnewaska House at 6-7:30 p.m.

Donations
Make a Donation Today!
All money raised by the PTO directly benefits the students and teachers in the Minnewaska School District. In the past we have donated money back to our K-12 classroom teachers by purchasing art supplies, musical instruments, document cameras, books, furniture, a Ga-Ga Ball pit and white board paint. Every year brings new goals and needs! We work closely with the school and our parents to provide beneficial items and family events to our schools.
