Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Care Center Director to lead our school district’s child care program. The director will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, ensure compliance with state regulations, and create a nurturing environment for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and supervision to child care staff
Ensure compliance with Minnesota and all state licensing requirements
Develop and implement program policies and procedures
Manage invoicing, staffing, and facility operations
Provide a positive, inclusive environment for children and families
Maintain documentation and records
Collaborate with school district leadership and community partners
Required Qualifications
✓ Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
✓ Minimum 1,040 hours of staff supervision experience (paid or unpaid)
✓ 9 quarter credits or 90 hours of training in: – Staff supervision – Human relations – Child development
✓ Comprehensive background check clearance from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS)
✓ Valid Minnesota driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in child development, early childhood education, or child care
Associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Experience managing staff in educational or child care settings
Strong communication and community engagement skills

Reports to the Community Education Director
