MAS Invites all Veterans to our Program

On Friday, November 11, 2022, Minnewaska Area Schools will hold our 17th Annual Veterans Appreciation Program commemorating veterans for their service to our country.

Any veteran is invited to attend the program and participate with fellow veterans from our area. The program begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and is open to the public at the Minnewaska Area High School gymnasium.

A special Veteran’s Lunch will be served, sponsored by Palmer Bus Service. Lunch begins promptly after the program in the MAHS cafeteria. Spouses are welcome to attend.

Minnewaska Area Schools works with local chapters of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars from Glenwood, Starbuck, Villard, and Lowry to plan the program and ensure it is meaningful for our veterans and students. Our goal is for our students to understand the experiences of local veterans and the valuable contributions they have made to make our way of life possible.

Elementary students will join us this year for a special performance to honor you. They are working on new songs that I think you will enjoy. All of our students are very proud to perform for you.

The west end of the main parking area will be reserved for your use. Please enter the building through the District Office doors (Door #1). For those arriving before the program, a reception area will be set up in the Auditorium. Students will be available to direct and escort you to the designated areas. Veterans will march in as a group at the beginning of the program.
