Meet MAS Robotics Coach Paul Molloy

Minnewaska Area Schools is pleased to announce that Paul Molloy has been named the new Robotics Coach for MAS!

We welcome the experience Paul brings to this brand new program as he builds the MAS robotics team. Paul currently has his own business where he designs and manufactures new video game cartridges for retro gaming systems. He enjoys building robots to assist him with manufacturing these cartridges. He was also recently contracted to work remotely with defense/aerospace companies including Northrop Grumman and Rogue Space Systems, where he makes computer processor chips for national defense space applications and autonomous orbital robotic satellites.

In Paul’s early years in the Navy, he served on the USS Hartford (SSN-768) as a Nuclear Reactor Operator. While serving in the Navy, he earned his first bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Tech from Thomas Edison State College. He has also earned another bachelor’s degree in Electrical Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Oregon State University.

Paul grew up in Alexandria, MN, and currently resides in Glenwood with his wife Lauren and their two daughters who attend Minnewaska Area Schools. As a family, they enjoy spending time on the lake, hitting the ski slopes, and playing games of all types. Paul has a passion for all things electronic, especially relating to gaming and robots.

If robotics is something you’re also passionate about or if it sparks your curiosity, Coach Molloy is looking for high school students to join the robotics team! Look for more information to come regarding a robotics parent/student meeting.
