Meet your 2024 School Board Candidates
Election Day is approaching fast, and it’s time to meet the six individuals running for four open seats on the Minnewaska School Board. Your vote on Tuesday, November 5, is crucial as it helps shape the future of our schools and community.
Meet the candidates:
- Angie Reichmann
- Chad Barsness
- Dawn Jenson

Each candidate was asked to share their thoughts by answering the following seven questions:
- What made you want to run for the Minnewaska School Board?
- What attributes and behaviors are essential for school board members?
- What do you believe would be your role as an MAS school board member?
- What are your thoughts on the school district’s programs for students?
- As a board member, where would you look to make budget cuts should the district find itself in a financial situation? Are there any areas you would not consider cutting?
- It is very likely that the District will be going to the voters in the near future to renew our bond for building improvement projects, providing $15 million in tax-neutral revenue. Share your views and opinions on this. What would be your role as a Board Member?
- Describe your role on the board as a community member who is serving in a policy/governance capacity while staff manages operations.
