Mitch McGuire Named New Head Volleyball Coach

Minnewaska Area Schools is proud to announce that Mitch McGuire will be our new Head Volleyball Coach. Mitch is very excited to take the lead of our K-12 volleyball program. It’s always been a dream of his to lead a program in the district he also teaches. He most recently had great success as the inaugural head coach for the Alexandria College ‘Legends’ volleyball program for the past two seasons. This year he was awarded Coach of the Year. He’s extremely proud to have coached All-American athletes, and that his team earned a spot in the NJCAA D-III Final Four this past season.

At Minnewaska Area Schools Mitch is in his first year as our 7 – 12 Art Teacher. He has previously taught elementary and high school art in Alexandria School District.

Mitch is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Morris, where he spent four seasons as the setter on UMM’s men’s club volleyball team. He coached high school volleyball for 10 seasons before joining Alexandria College, and was head coach for the Kandi Elite Volleyball Club’s 18s team.

He is currently working to assemble his coaching staff and there will be more information to come for our volleyball players as the plan comes together for the remaining off-season and outline goals for the upcoming 2024 fall season.
