Paraprofessional Week

Day in and day out, providing children with a quality education is an all-hands-on-deck situation. Administrators, custodians, bus drivers, and teachers alike have a hand in making sure students are safe, healthy, and able to learn.

The week of January 24-30 2022 is Paraprofessional Appreciation Week, a time to recognize paraprofessionals for all they do to support students in finding success.

Chip Rankin, superintendent of Minnewaska Area Schools, said the impact paraprofessionals have on our schools is immeasurable. “We could not do it without them. They’re as important as anybody in the building,” he said. “Our kids benefit from them — our staff benefits. They’re an integral part of every day of our lives and they’re amazing people.

Paraprofessionals assist teachers by providing support to students. Some paraprofessionals work with students one on one while others might support an entire classroom. Everyone in the profession deserves a pat on the back.

I just can’t say enough good things about them and how vital they are to the success of the district.

Thank you to our paraprofessionals for your patience, support, and steadfast commitment to helping our students in the Minnewaska district.
