Tuesday, March 19 will be a Snow Make-up.

School will be in session Tuesday, March 19 instead of a Teacher In-Service Day.

There has been a lot of conversation about Governor Walz forgiving the requirement set in Statute 120A.41 listed below, however we have been informed that he doesn’t have the authority to over rule State Statute.

Currently we have missed 3 days of school and have had 1 E-learning day. The 2018-2019 School Calendar had 169 student contact days, thus missing 3 days already as we approach the traditional snowiest month of the year could have us extending our school year into June in order to meet State Statute. We will also continue to utilize E-learning days if we can predict a potential snow/fog/cold temp day(s) as we continue through the school year.

I know many of you may have made plans; keep them. We will work with all of our families and be flexible, however, we’ve missed a lot of instructional time. In addition, some “out of school” activities might be changed/shortened/canceled to preserve academic time when appropriate.
