Understanding the November 4 Bond Referendum: Building Our Future Together

On November 4, our community will make an important decision about the future of Minnewaska Area Schools through a bond referendum. I want to ensure every resident understands what this proposal includes and how it came to be.

This bond referendum represents the culmination of extensive community engagement. Through listening sessions, plus a comprehensive survey, we heard your priorities loud and clear: safety, maintenance, childcare, learning environments, and community spaces.

The proposal before you addresses five key investment areas:

  • Critical Building Reinvestment – Essential HVAC and infrastructure upgrades
  • Enhanced Security – Modern safety measures at all buildings
  • Childcare Addition – Addressing our region’s childcare shortage
  • Learning Space Improvements – Modernizing classrooms for 21st-century learning
  • Shared Community Spaces – Maintaining facilities used by the entire community

This bond referendum is about reinvesting in what we have to ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and ready for the next 25 years. This is the right time to continue our commitment to facilities that support our mission to Engage Every Student, Every Day!

I encourage you to learn more on our website and attend one of our upcoming Coffee & Conversation or Open Q&A events.
