Minnewaska Area Schools is Searching for Its Next Superintendent
Minnewaska Area Schools is looking for an exceptional educational leader to guide our district into its next chapter. Serving approximately 1,363 students across the Pope County communities of Glenwood, Starbuck, Villard, Lowry, Farwell, Cyrus, Terrace, Westport, and Sedan, our district is proud of its strong academic tradition, 98% graduation rate, and commitment to serving students and families at every stage.
We are located in the heart of west-central Minnesota, just 15 minutes from Alexandria and two hours from both Fargo and the Twin Cities. Our region offers year-round recreation on Lake Minnewaska, a vibrant community culture, and a quality of life that is hard to match.
The search is being conducted in partnership with the Minnesota School Boards Association's Executive Search Service (MSBA). The new superintendent is expected to begin July 1, 2026.

Superintendent Search Survey
An anonymous public survey was available for all interested parties to fill out between March 5-18, 2026. Hard copies of the survey were also available at the district office and completed surveys can be turned it to the same location. MSBA summarized and provided an overview of the responses for presentation to the School Board.
