Support Our Students

The technology levy is the source of dedicated funding for technology solutions for MAS students and staff. This levy is a renewal or renewal plus an increase of the current tech levy, which was approved by voters in 2014.

The tech levy would provide funds that allow the district to purchase, upgrade and support a wide range of technology for students and teachers.

How Technology Impacts & Empowers Learning

The tech levy will maintain our investment in technology for students. The tech levy funds student devices, classroom technology and innovative learning; allows us to provide assistive technologies to improve accessibility; and funds technology training for students, staff and families.

Why the Tech Levy is Important

The tech levy could potentially fund a wide variety of upgraded and new technology for MAS students over the next 10 years, including:

  • Student subscriptions to IXL, Seesaw, and other learning and curriculum platforms
  • School Messenger notification system for 2-hour late starts, weather, and other alerts
  • Security camera and security door software updates
  • Phone systems for phones and voicemail in every classroom
  • Student devices that allow for at-home and remote learning (iPads, Chromebooks, etc.)
  • 3D pens
  • Precision manufacturing tools
  • STEAM/STEM learning tools
  • Precision ag and drone technology
  • Additional future technology resources

In addition to funding these items and more, the tech levy would create the opportunity for MAS to:

  • Maintain a 1:1 device-to-student ratio, which makes both in-person and remote learning easier for students, teachers, and families
  • Update outdated technology that’s reached its end of life and is no longer functional in classrooms, such as first-edition SMART Boards
  • Lay a foundation of success for the children who will begin attending MAS in the next 5-10 years — and for continued growth in classroom sizes.
